Thriller movies are always popular across the best streaming services, and that certainly includes Prime Video. Whenever the Amazon-owned platform adds a new twist-fueled movie to its library, subscribers seem to flock to stream it before the secrets can be spoiled online.
I’m no different. In fact, I rank the thriller genre as my favorite type of movie. So, to assist my fellow thriller fans, I’ve combed through the Prime Video collection and picked out a handful of excellent movies that each offer at least one major twist. But fear not, this article is completely spoiler-free. I’m not going to ruin the fun of discovering the twist for yourself.
‘Companion’ (2025)
If one twist simply isn’t enough, then you’ll want to check out “Companion.” This 2025 sci-fi thriller flips the script so many times that it’ll make your head spin. In fact, there might be a one twist too many, but for fans of shock revelations, it’s a complete blast. It’s also anchored by a strong leading performance from Sophie Thatcher, and “The Boys’” Jack Quaid is also excellent, playing a slightly different character to his typical affable type. Laced with dark comedy, “Companion” ranks as one of last year’s most surprisingly high-quality releases.
It’s a little hard to get into the narrative beats of “Companion” without giving away at least one twist, so forgive me for being a little vague here. The flick sees a young woman, Iris (Thatcher), head to a remote lakehouse with her boyfriend, Josh (Quaid). The plan is to spend a relaxing weekend with Josh’s friend, but things quickly go south. If you can resist, I encourage you to stream “Companion” without even watching the trailer to avoid any spoilers.
