The nominations for the 2026 Oscars were announced Thursday morning, which means you have a little bit less than two months to catch up on all of the best movies of 2025 before the March 15 ceremony, hosted by funnyman Conan OโBrien.
Ryan Cooglerโs genre-spanning vampire epic โSinnersโ landed a record 16 Oscar nominations, closely followed by Paul Thomas Andersonโs revolutionary saga โOne Battle After Another,โ with 13.
Both films have been available streaming on HBO Max for months now, something that has become more common in recent years thanks to the proliferation of streaming services and the shorter theatrical windows.
That said, there are still a number of Oscar nominees, including several Best Picture contenders like โHamnetโ and โMarty Supreme,โ that can only be seen in theaters at the moment.
