HBO Max is the premium network's subscription streaming service that bundles together all the movies and shows on regular HBO with an extra streaming-only library of more shows, movies and originals.
Keep in mind, HBO Max killed off its weeklong free trial a while ago. And while it became closely linked to the pandemic-era practice of streaming new theatrical movies the same day they hit theaters, HBO Max has largely halted same-day streaming this year.
Is The Batman available to stream on HBO Max (or anywhere)?
No. The Batman was released exclusively in cinemas initially. HBO Max will be the first place that The Batman will stream eventually, and the company hasn't confirmed a date yet — but The Batman is expected to be on HBO Max on (or about) April 19.
The Batman is distributed by Warner Bros., which is part of WarnerMedia alongside HBO Max. However, HBO Max has ended its practice of putting every Warner Bros. release on HBO Max to stream the same day it hits theaters. While some films may get same-day Max releases like that, The Batman isn't one of them. Warner Bros. has committed to giving its films at least 45 days in theaters exclusively — but it's not obligated to put those films on HBO Max as soon as the 45 days are over.
However, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar said in December that The Batman would be available on HBO Max on its 46th day of release. If that holds true, The Batman would be available to stream 46 days after the film hit theaters March…
