Voice control sounds like the perfect way to use Android Auto. You keep your hands on the wheel and let Google Assistant handle everything else.

However, I've lost count of how many times voice commands have misunderstood me, lagged at the worst moment, or refused to work when I needed them.

After a few too many moments of repeating myself while driving, I stopped depending on voice commands for everything. That's when I started using Assistant shortcuts in Android Auto.
