One America News Network launched a direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service on Wednesday, offering cord-cutters live access to its cable channel for $4.99 a month with no cap on how many devices can stream simultaneously โ a policy that every major streaming competitor still restricts. The service, called OAN Live, is accessible through the network’s website and apps for Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs, and includes same-day replays and on-demand video clips alongside the live channel simulcast. Subscribers who pay for a full year upfront receive a discounted rate, bringing the cost to roughly $3.68 a month.
The launch marks a significant milestone in Herring Networks’ recovery from a 2022 distribution crisis that threatened the network’s survival: when DirecTV declined to renew its contract that April, OAN lost a carrier that had accounted for an estimated 90 percent of its parent company’s total revenue, according to sworn court testimony from an OAN accountant. An OAN executive testified separately that without the DirecTV deal, the network’s value “would be zero.”
Four years later, OAN has rebuilt its distribution footprint and added a third direct-to-consumer tier that no longer depends on any single carrier.
How OAN Built a Three-Tier Streaming Stack
The architecture OAN has assembled since the DirecTV drop mirrors strategies used by much larger media companies โ but is unusual for a network at OAN’s scale. It now operates across three distinct tiers.
The first is a free, ad-supported streaming (FAST) tier: OAN Plus, which launched on Amazon Prime Video on January 15, 2026, as a free channel for Prime Video customers in the United States.
