DETROIT, Mich. (WILX) – As the Major League Baseball season gets underway, the Detroit Tigers have a new TV home — the brand new Detroit SportsNet.
The Tigers begin the season Thursday at San Diego before Opening Day at Comerica Park on Friday, April 3.
And most fans now know exactly what channel they’ll be able to watch the Tigers on. Daniella Bruce, the Tigers’ sideline reporter for DSN, announced channel numbers in a post on X Wednesday.
Comcast/Xfinity customers can find Detroit SportsNet on channel 1253. Charter/Spectrum customers will find DSN on different channels, depending on location, according to Bruce:
- Channel 213 – Lansing, Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo, Detroit, Alpena, Duluth-Superior, Flint-Saginaw, Marquette, Traverse City
- Channel 291 – Livonia
- Channel 307/1307 – Ft. Wayne, Green Bay-Appleton, Toledo
- Channel 436 – If watching on the Spectrum App
Bruce said on X more information will be released Thursday morning regarding additional providers. It’s not clear whether carriers like DirecTV, YouTube TV, Fubo or others will carry Detroit SportsNet.
The baseball season gets underway with two games airing on WILX on Thursday, March 26 — the Pittsburgh Pirates at New York Mets at 1 p.m. and the Arizona Diamondbacks at the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers at 8 p.m.
The first edition of Sunday Night Baseball on NBC is March 29, featuring the Cleveland Guardians at the Seattle Mariners at 7 p.m.
